B-PEN, The Brookline Parent Education Network: Want to keep up to date with what the experts are saying, and connect with other Brookline parents, check out B-PEN.org. Blog with other parents about current issues, come to a Parent Network Meeting, or sign up to join the Advisory Committee. PARENT NETWORK MTNGS-Parent-to-parent discussions on the social issues our teens are encountering, and how parents are handling them. Freshman and Sophomore Parent Network Mtngs will resume in the fall. All mtngs are in the MLK rm at BHS at 7:00pm.

Brookline Youth Leadership Programs
STUDENTS AGAINST DESTRUCTIVE DECISIONS (SADD) Students are leading the way to a safer, healthy community for all youth in Brookline.
SADD Meetings: Freshman SADD meets Thursdays X-Block at BHS, beginning in October. Informative discussions led by Peer Leaders on the relevent social, emotional and health issues facing teens today. 8th Grade SADD meets monthly on Wednesday nights January through June. SADD meetings are a great way for 8th graders to prepare for the social scene at their new school!!!For more information, please contact the SADD club advisor, Hope Schroy, at 617-713-5149.
Peer Leader Community Education: BHS Peer Leaders present to middle school health classes on healthy relationships, bullying prevention, and making smart decisions. Presentations include a new marijuana health education program designed specifically for freshman. Students are learning about the real pitfalls from abusing marijuana, and why choosing not to use leads to a more engaged and active high school career. BHS Peer Leaders received rave reviews for their presentation at the June B-CASA Community Forum on Teen Access to Alcohol and Social Host Laws.
