The Public Schools of Brookline employ both daily and long-term substitute teachers as well as Home Tutors to serve the needs of our students.  Applications for long-term substitute positions are accepted online.

Hiring Process for Long-Term Substitute Positions

 

1. Candidates submit applications online at SchoolSpring (position listed as a school-specific long-term substitute opening)
2. Documents reviewed by Principal/Coordinator
3. Candidates selected for an interview
4. Candidates interviewed by Principal and school-based team
5. Position offered after successful interview, licensure documentation, reference checks, completion of CORI check and evidence of Ethics training

Hiring Process for Daily and Short-Term Substitute Positions

1. Candidates submit applications online at SchoolSpring (position listed as "Daily and Short-Term Substitute" opening)
2. Documents reviewed by Human Resources Personnel
3. Candidates selected for an interview based on current school system needs
4. Candidates interviewed by Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
5. Position offered after successful interview and reference checks. Substitute assignments will be offered upon completion of CORI check and evidence of Ethics training
