2013 - 2014 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Please contact your neighborhood school for an appointment     to register your child for the Fall of 2013.

BEFORE AUGUST 31 TO ELIGIBLE FOR KINDERGARTEN.

Kindergarten - Grade 8

Parents and legal guardians may arrange to register your child(ren) by contacting your district school to make an appointment.

If your child speaks one of the following languages-- Chinese, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Russian or Spanish -- please contact Mindy Paulo at 617-264-6413.

If your home address is in a buffer zone, the Superintendent will make an assignment for all the members in the family to the school with the lower enrollment at the grade level the child(ren) are entering.  For more information on Buffer Zones, click here.

To be enrolled for kindergarten, students must be five years of age on or before August 31 of the year in which they enter kindergarten. NO EXCEPTIONS SHALL BE MADE.

Kindergarten Registration begins each year during the month of February for the upcoming Fall. During this registration period, no appointment is necessary and families may visit their neighborhood school to begin the registration process.  

Families wishing to register after that time, should contact their neighborhood school for a registration appointment or the Superintendent's office with any registration questions.

Do not mail registration forms to schools.  All registrations must be done in person.

In addition to a completed registration packet, the following documents are necessary to register:

*Proof of Residency
-A tax bill or deed is required if you own your home/condo and a current utility bill.
-A lease is required if you are renting, dated within the year along with a copy for the first payment and a current utility bill.
-A notarized letter from the owner if you are residing with them, along with the  owner's tax bill and a current utility bill.

*Original Birth Certificate

*Passport/Visa for students not born in United States

*Immunization Record (in English)
You will meet with the school nurse or secretary in the clinic. They will determine if your immunizations are up-to-date. A physical examination within the last year is required for admission. The exam must be given in the United States. Call your district school to make an appointment.

Grade 9 - 12

 Parents/Guardians may register high school students by contacting the Registrar at Brookline High School, 115 Greenough Street, Brookline, Massachusetts. Registration is by appointment only. Please contact the Registrar's Office at 617-713-5006 to arrange for an appointment.

Official high school transcript for students registering in grades 10-12. Grade 9 students are required to bring copies of their 7th and 8th grade report cards that shows promotion.  Translated records must be notarized.
