First priority in admission is given to those children returning to Pre-K from the previous year, and to siblings of students formerly enrolled in our program. We make every attempt to balance our classes appropriately through a lottery system. Factors that are considered include, but are not limited to, gender, age, primary language, special need, home school district, students who have previously applied and were not accepted and prior school experience. Age cut-offs are strictly followed. Proof of Brookline residency is required. The Brookline Early Education Program does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnic origin or marital status, disability, sexual orientation or political affiliation.
Preschool/Pre-K applications for the 2015-2016 (school) year can be (mailed or emailed) between September 15 and November 15. Our mailing address is 115 Greenough St. Room 107 Brookline, MA 02445. Our email is
Please be advised that this is not a first come first served process for incoming new families. All new applications submitted between September 15 and November 15 will bear equal weight.
Be flexible when choosing classroom locations: Not everyone will be able to send their child to the closest BEEP classroom. Indicate all classrooms you are willing to attend and rank them in preferred order.
In addition to submitting an application, parent(s)/guardian(s) must attend one information session at the Brookline Public Library, Hunneman Hall, 361 Washington Street. If you have attended an information session within the past five years, you will not need to come again. Information session dates and times will be emailed to all applicants in mid- November.
Admission and waitlist notifications will be distributed to families on January 28, 2015.
TUITION ASSISTANCE INFORMATION
Families who wish to be considered for tuition assistance are required to submit a separate application and attachments with their enrollment application. We follow the state guidelines for tuition assistance. Please refer to the first page of the tuition assistance application for guidelines.
Families may receive tuition assistance by obtaining an income eligible voucher through the State of Massachusetts. Families with existing vouchers are expected to transfer their voucher to BEEP and maintain their voucher eligibility status.
Families who do not currently have a voucher but are voucher eligible will be placed on the Department of Early Education and Care's centralized waitlist with the information provided on the Tuition Assistance Application.
Please click here to get the Tuition Assistance Application.
If you need assistance with completing the tuition assistance application, please contact our office at 617 713-5471.
PLEASE NOTE: If you decide not to send your child to BEEP but feel you are eligible for a low-income voucher, BEEP can still help you place your family on the Department of Early Education and Care's Centralized Waitlist.
