Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are pleased to announce that enrollment for the 2021 Universal Summer Program is now open!
The Universal Summer Program (USP) will provide any current student entering grades 1-8 in September of 2021 in the Public Schools of Brookline with an opportunity to engage in project based learning that supports social-emotional and academic enrichment. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to hone their skills while keeping the learning experience interactive, fun, and vibrant. Teams of students will work on one community project during each 2-week session. The program will run in-person for two 2-week sessions that will take place Monday through Friday from July 6-16 and July 19-30, 2021. Classes will be held from 8:45 AM to 11:45 AM at the Florida Ruffin Ridley School.
Students have the option to participate in Session 1 (July 6-16), or Session 2 (July 19-30), or both Sessions (July 6-30).

The entire program is FREE for all students who participate!
Each class will have up to 15 students. Breakfast and lunch will be available for students who choose to participate. Breakfast will be served from 8:15 am to 8:45 am and lunch will be served from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm.
In addition to the morning academic program, we will be offering an option for a fee-based enrichment class in the afternoons. This afternoon program will be organized by Brookline Adult and Community Education. Information about the afternoon program will be forthcoming.
For students who qualify for the Extended School Year (ESY) Program as part of their special education services, note that the program dates and times do overlap. While we recommend that all students who have ESY services attend ESY to ensure maintenance of skills, we recognize some families may want their student to attend some or all of USP. Please note that there will not be make up services for missed ESY time due to attendance at USP.
If you would like to enroll your child in USP, please complete our electronic USP registration form by May 17, 2021.
We look forward to welcoming your child to the 2021 Universal Summer Program! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at universalsummerprogram@psbma.org or review our FAQ document by clicking here.
Sincerely,
Universal Summer Program Team
