Superintendent's Message: October 2019

Dear Families,

Our school year is off to a fantastic start! As our students and staff continue to settle into their daily routines, the kindness and generosity our families have shown to support our teachers, schools, and each other is inspiring. We are truly fortunate to benefit from such a strong and caring community.

This month, you will learn about the work PSB is doing to strengthen professional learning and continue to develop our outstanding educators. We must support our teachers and ensure that there are opportunities for them to grow - with Brookline, with their schools, and especially with their teams. As our educators learn about cultural proficiency and restorative practices, as well as the work we’re doing to strengthen our K-8 math curriculum, we will improve our students’ education for today and better prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.

In visiting each of our schools over the past month, I have seen again and again how our schools' success depends on all of us. As we get into the heart of the school year, I am looking forward to seeing all that we will accomplish together in support of our students.

Sincerely,

Ben Lummis

Interim Superintendent
