Family Access to Students' Work at Home
K - 2 students - Some teachers use Seesaw, a portfolio management tool and student engagement system that is designed for younger students. Seesaw creates a powerful learning loop that brings together students, teachers, and families to deepen student learning. Your child's teacher will notify you if they use Seesaw in their classroom.
Overview of Seesaw
Grades 3 - 5 - Some teachers use Google Classroom, a tool used to streamline assignments, boost collaboration, and foster communication. Students login to Google Classroom using their PSB Google account; they receive instruction how to do this in school. Families can receive weekly email summaries from their child's Classroom. Your child's teacher will let you know if guardian summaries is something they have active in their Google Classroom.
Support for using Google Classroom can be found here.
Grades 6 - 8 - Middle school teachers use Canvas, the recommended LMS (learning management system) for all Brookline students and teachers in grades 6 through 12. Students are taught in sixth grade how to login, navigate, and use Canvas. Parents can choose to become an observer to view class assignments, students' submission history, and teacher comments.
