• Lincoln School's Annual

    Dear Lincoln Families,

Our Annual Lincoln School Read-A-Thon is returning.  This year’s event will run May 24th – May 30th. Let’s take a break from our screens to encourage the joy of reading!  This year we are excited to offer online forms and payments.  If you would like suggestions or recommendations in selecting “just right” books for your child, please reach out to Mrs. Abner, School Librarian or your child’s teacher.

Help your child decide on an appropriate amount of time per day that he/she can read during our Read-A-Thon. Record this amount as your Reading Target on the Reading Log form. (Example: I can read 30 minutes every day. 30 minutes x 7days = Reading Target of 210 minutes!)

TYPES OF PLEDGES:   Sponsors may pledge either a set amount per minute OR a flat rate.

FINDING SPONSORS:  Ask family, friends, neighbors, and community members.  Let them know the funds you raise will go directly to supporting Lincoln School students and teachers!

Use the Reading Log form to record student’s time read each day of the Read-A-Thon.  An adult must sign the reading log.  Students will receive credit for time spent reading OR for being read to by an adult, in-school buddy, or sibling!

COLLECTING PLEDGES:     VENMO payments may be made to Lincoln School PTO.  Checks should be made to Lincoln School PTO.  Please be sure to include student name, class and “Read-a-thon” in VENMO notes to ensure your student receives credit!

All donations are tax deductible. Tax ID can be provided upon request.

Prize for ALL Participating READERS – All students who participate in the Read-A-Thon will receive a small prize

Top READING and Top EARNING Students in each grade – The student with the most minutes read AND  the student with the highest pledges earned will each win a Lincoln School Spirit T-shirt.

Top READING CLASS per Grade (most collective minutes) – The class with the most total minutes read will celebrate their accomplishment with a lunchtime celebration with Ms. Abner!

Time to ask for Pledges!  Help your child ask people you know to sponsor your child by pledging money for each minute your child reads during National Screen Free Week.

May 24th-May 30th     READ, READ, READ!
Put those screens down and read!  Try something new, re-read an old favorite, or even log your homework reading!  In-school reading can count also!  May 31    Time is up!
Total your minutes read and calculate the pledge amounts you raised!

Pledge sheet and Reading Log should be returned to classroom Teacher or the Read-A-Thon box in the Library with Ms. Abner.  Pledge funds may be return with Reading Log or submitted via VENMO to Lincoln School PTO.

Friday, JUNE 4th will be the last day to turn in pledges!

**Reading logs and donations returned after the 4th will gladly be added to school totals, however cannot be counted toward prizes**

We appreciate your support in making the return of our Annual Lincoln School Read-A-Thon a success
