Baker GSA
-
Who? The Baker GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) is open to all students in grade 5-8.
What? At our meetings, we learn about what it means to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community and how to support those in this community. Our GSA strives to provide support, build community and take action.
We do this by uniting LGBTQ+ and allied youth (youth who support equal civil rights, gender equality, and LGBTQ+ social movements) to support each other and organize around issues impacting our school and community.
Some of our favorite projects have been:
-
Participating in the Brookline Schools Pride Walk
-
Developing a graphic novel book club
-
Painting the cross-walks outside the school rainbow
-
Creating and selling Pride gear
-
Designing Pride posters for Baker
-
Establishing gender neutral bathrooms
