Students in grades K-3 are invited to participate in the Pierce 2020 Mock Caldecott Award Program by reading as many of the "Contenders" as possible and voting for their favorite at the end of January.  During library class we have been discussing how the Caldecott Committee discusses and analyzes the artwork in books.  Do the illustrations help show plot, character, setting, and style of the story?

Please take a look at our attached list of 2020 Caldecott Contenders.  Happy Reading!

Over the past two months, third grade students, have been learning about how the Pierce School Library is organized.  Although we still use the good old Dewey Decimal System, students now can access the card catalog via computer.  As a culmination of our Dewey Unit, students got to put their skills to practice with a library scavenger hunt.
