• Brookline Early Childhood Community Playgroup

The Brookline Early Childhood Community Playgroup is a free weekly parent-child learning experience.

The program meets twice each week and is open to all Brookline families.

Monday mornings 10:30am- 11:15am in St. Mark's Park at 100 Park St.

Tuesday mornings 10:30am- 11:15am in St. Mark's Park at 100 Park St.

The program follows the Public Schools of Brookline schedule. When PSB is closed, playgroups are not in session.

Young children and parents/guardians/grandparents come together to play in a "pop-up classroom". Our teachers lead the group through circle time, singing, read alouds, active and pretend play, discovery and creative activities. Families are encouraged to play and learn together.
Playgroup provides an opportunity for families to meet other families with young children,
enjoy time in a playspace that is safe and child-friendly and get information about programs and resources for families in Brookline.

This program is primarily planned for children 18 months to 4 years who do not already attend a school program. It is a drop-in program that is open to all Brookline residents.

The Playgroup is funded by the Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant that is awarded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

This year, in order to participate in Brookline Community playgroups and our other offerings, please complete the Ages and Stages Questionnaire. As we are funded through a grant, the state is requesting that families complete the ASQ. With this 10-15 minute questionnaire, you will learn a great deal about your child’s development, and we can use this information to better design our programming! Please complete PRIOR to attending our programs!

The first day of playgroup is Monday, September 19th. Please click here for our flyer and click here for our FAQ Sheet. You can also follow us on Facebook @brooklinecommunityoutreach!
