The primary responsibility of the Office of Educational Equity (OEE) is to uplift and advance the District's core values and goals with an intentional focus on Educational Equity, where the Public Schools of Brookline are committed to identifying and eliminating barriers to educational achievement in our schools. Reviewing and creating policies and practices that are fair and provide educational opportunities to ensure that every student, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or economic status, meets our standards for achievement, participation, and growth.
The Office of Educational Equity works closely with the Office of Teaching and Learning and the Office of Student Services to meet the needs of students across the District. The Office also leads district-wide professional development and supports school-based equity initiatives and those created in collaboration with educators, students, and caregivers.
