The School Committee invites and welcomes community involvement and engagement during the superintendent search process and is offering a number of ways for school and community stakeholders to provide input, including: community forums; an online survey; focus groups with partner organizations of the public schools; meetings with staff and students, and participation in reviewing the finalist candidates.
Complete the Superintendent Search Survey
You can advise the School Committee of the characteristics you consider important and wish to see in our next Superintendent by participating in the Superintendent Search Survey. The survey closed on January 22nd. The results are shared as part of the Leadership Profile.
Participate in a Community Forum or Focus Group to help the School Committee hear what you are looking for in our next superintendent
The School Committee is creating multiple opportunities for stakeholders to have input into the development of a Leadership Profile for the new Superintendent that will help in candidate selection and review. In December and January there will be five open Community Forums to be held for anyone who wishes to attend. There will also be Focus Groups with organizations that partner with the schools, with town leaders, and with school staff.
The information gathered at these community events will be used to develop a profile for the new Superintendent that the School Committee will use when vetting candidates. Because this process is designed to provide input for the School Committee, the committee members who attend these sessions will only be there to listen. The sessions will be led by Atlantic Research Partners.
Join the Community-member Finalist Review Committee
Once the finalists are selected, the School Committee will rely on a diverse group of community members to review the finalists, interview them and provide input from the public meetings and the school visits during their visits to Brookline. The Finalist Review Committee will be formed in February. Please check back here for more information about the Committee in January.
