Pierce Project Renovation Update
We're happy to share that in a joint public hearing held on Tuesday, April 2, the Parks and Recreation Department and the Conservation Commission unanimously voted in favor of moving ahead with the plan to construct and install geothermal wells adjacent to the Pierce school. Concurrently, the Select Board also voted unanimously in favor of the School Committee's request.
Thereafter, the Building Commission voted to release funds for the early bid demolition package.
This means that the school will relocate at the end of the school year. This project has been a long time in coming, and will not be without its challenges. But we are confident that the school community will navigate this together.
