Hayes Soap Box Derby
Thursday, December 19th, was a thrilling afternoon at the Roland Hayes School, as students tested their engineering skills by careening down the school's steep hill at the Hayes Annual Soap Box Derby.
Students designed and built their cars under the watchful eye and keen guidance of Educational Technology Specialist Mr. Matt Durant and 5th grade teacher Mr. Matt Picard. These cars were put to test over and over again on Thursday. The weather conditions were brisk and the hill was soft and muddy, but that did not get in the way of the students and adoring race fans.
