Remembering Matt Goldstein & Family
Dear Brookline Community,
The holiday season has brought heartbreaking news for all of us, as we share the tragic loss of a beloved member of our community and his family. Mr. Matt Goldstein, eighth-grade Math teacher at the Edith C. Baker School, his wife Lyla, and two daughters Valerie and Violet, passed away last week because of carbon monoxide poisoning at their home in Wakefield, New Hampshire.
Mr. Goldstein was an exceptional educator who brought passion, kindness, and excellence to his classroom. His dedication to inspiring students and shaping young minds has left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mrs. Goldstein was a proud graduate of Brookline High School, class of 1988. She was a beloved and respected member of her high school class, and is remembered as a smart, kind and admired classmate.
Our hearts go out to their extended family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew and loved them. During this immensely difficult time, we will come together as a community to honor their memory and support one another.
As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, let us also remember the love and joy that the Goldstein family brought to those around them. We encourage everyone in our community to reach out for support as needed and to keep the Goldstein family in your thoughts.
Thank you for being part of a community that supports one another in times of sorrow. Together, we will navigate this difficult moment and honor the lives of Mr. Goldstein and his family.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Linus J. Guillory Jr., PhD
